“Get Off the Couch – Get Out of the House”

... that’s the theme for this year’s event on Sunday, August 7, 2011, at the new “Wiener Ring” sports center in Offenbach. From 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., a variety of physical activities for the whole family will set the tone for the day.

The event has already been held several times in the Offenbach district with great success.

Once again this year, the clubs will organize hands-on activities featuring a wide variety of sports for young and old and will showcase their club work. Sports make an important contribution to quality of life. For the individual, athletic achievement is a great means of personal development and self-affirmation, a way to balance work-related stress, a form of preventive health care, and a means of fostering social connections. Recreational and elite sports complement each other in this regard.

We would like to thank all clubs and organizations contributing to the event “Get Off the Couch – Get Out of the House” for their commitment. We hope that, with beautiful summer weather, we can inspire many people—especially children, parents, and grandparents—to join in the fun.

Come by and spend a wonderful, active Sunday at the new Am Wiener Ring Sports Center in Offenbach. In addition to many sports activities, we’ll also provide a family-friendly atmosphere and refreshments for our guests. The organizers of the event—the City of Offenbach, the District of Offenbach, the Offenbach Sports Association, and, of course, all participating clubs—look forward to your visit.
